The Salty Beardman sits right on Marine Parade in Kingscliff, offering a relaxed seaside spot that blends a café and breakfast restaurant vibe. It’s the kind of place locals come to for a comforting start to the day or a casual lunch with friends, especially if you’re keen on quality coffee paired with a menu that stretches beyond the usual café fare.

Inside, the atmosphere strikes a balance between laid-back and polished. Guests find themselves choosing between sunny outdoor tables and shaded spots that catch the morning breeze. This mix works well for those who want to soak up the beachside setting without being in the full sun, making early breakfasts and brunches a natural fit.

The menu isn’t your standard eggs-and-toast lineup. Offerings such as eggs Benedict and a prawn egg scramble show the kitchen’s twist on breakfast classics. The variety extends through the day with dishes like Southern chicken burgers, sweet potato and corn fritters, and Vietnamese sticky beef salad, catering to both those after a hearty meal and lighter options. It’s a place where eggs and avo on toast live comfortably alongside crumbed barramundi and salt and pepper calamari, hinting at the coastal location by focusing on fresh, satisfying flavors.

Service tends to be friendly and efficient, even on busy days, with staff attentive to small requests—like extra coffee shots or a bit more balsamic on your avo toast. The quality of coffee is clearly a priority here, making it a solid stop for caffeine seekers who appreciate a well-made chai or a turmeric latte to complement their meal.

Families, couples, and solo diners alike find The Salty Beardman accessible and welcoming. Its casual approach means it’s just as suited for a quick fish and chips lunch as it is for a slow morning catching up over waffles or an inventive salad. Given its location and vibe, the best times to visit tend to be weekday mornings or early weekends to avoid peak crowding but still enjoy the seaside buzz.

Friendly, professional Front of House & Barista, Kate.. made a great coffee. Kate was busy, but attentive and helpful when we asked for extra things. Had lovely breakfast. Poached eggs, sourdough toast, fetta, avo, balsamic, the usual. Eggs perfect. We had a table in sun and shade.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Highly recommend the prawn egg scramble, wow. The colour and flavours amazing, glad I passed up the standard bacon and eggs and tried this! Although my son ordered the eggs Benedict and said it was beautiful.

Hands down the best burger and fish and chips we have in a long time! We ordered the sweetlip and the auzzie burger it was cooked to perfection — The chips were golden, crunchy, and not greasy at all. You can tell they use quality oil and fresh fish. Staff were friendly and the service was quick even though it was busy. Definitely coming back next time . It’s a beachside restaurant they have good dinning as well

When I first walked in I was greeted with a smile. Such a warm atmosphere to walk into and have a nice early breakfast with myself. The food was AMAZING!!! Definitely recommended if you are looking for a nice homely cafe to meet with loved ones.

Pretty good food. Seems geared more for the tourist crowd... but that might be only over the school holidays - when I went there. Or maybe I'm just too old to not to hesitate at paying 2.50 for a small bowl of sauce - four times. Anyway the service was top shelf and very fast. If you want fish and chips then you can go here. It's good.
